CAPITOL STREET TEAM

It’s not too often we actually get real “weather” here in LA, but when we do, you can bet we have a playlist to match! Today it’s a little windy and the rain is light, which makes it the perfect time for us to turn on AIR. Perfect timing to listen to AIR since their song “Alone In Kyoto” was just featured in a Samsung commercial that aired during the Oscars.

What are your rainy day jams?

We’ve got Coldplay fever! Can you blame us? They keep dropping all these cryptic tweets with visual teasers! I think I speak for the entire team when I say that I’m dying to hear the new record. For now, I’ve put together a little list of some of my favorite Coldplay tracks. What are your favorite Coldplay songs?

**UPDATE: The wait is finally over, check out Coldplay’s new jam “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” right HERE! What do you think?

Spring has sprung in Los Angeles and we are loving it! We’re kicking the weekend off with a FREESTYLE FRIDAY playlist (you may have seen my Freestyle themed birthday post a while back)!

Lookout weekend cuz here I come
Because weekend were made for fun

What are you up to this weekend?

The LA office is no stranger to earthquakes. We even have an office earthquake pool where everyone predicts the date “the big one” will hit. The winner, assuming they’re alive to claim their prize, wins a first aid kit, a pack of beef jerky, and lunch at the restaurant of their choice! With all the recent earthquakes in the world, we’re pretty sure due for a rumble. So to get in the mood, we’ve put together an earthquake playlist.

What songs would you add to our quake-list?

Kimberly Caldwell’s Top 5 Valentine’s Day songs.. drumroll, please…..

1) “Valentine” - Martina McBride : It was written specifically for this day. It allows you to step out of reality and into fantasy.

2) “I Just Called To Say I Love You” - Stevie Wonder : You have to sing along and smile when u hear this song!

3) “Right Here Waiting For You” - Richard Marx : Just feel the intense devotion of never giving up on love!

4) “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” - Bryan Adams : It’s so sappy and gets me every time!

5) “Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” - Aerosmith : I’m a huge Steven Tyler fan and this is all about the early stages of falling in love when u can’t get enough of each other.

Cheli’s Jamz: Indies and Oldies

Ask anyone in the LA office and they’ll confirm, when my iPod is on shuffle, you never know who or what you’re going to hear! I can’t help it, when it comes to music, I like it all! A mix of indies and oldies, here are a few jams I can’t get enough of right now:

1. Sukie In The Graveyard - Belle And Sebastian Mark and I saw them in LA a few months ago and I’ve been playing their album The Life Pursuit nonstop (other faves from this album: ”Funny Little Frog” and “We Are the Sleepyheads”)

2. My Best Friend’s Girl - The Cars If you’re driving on the freeway and see some lunatic girl grooving a little too hard behind the wheel, it’s probably me, and it’s probably to this song! Seriously, if I didn’t drive stick, I’d be clapping along like a fool.

3. Suffragette City - David Bowie Another commute favorite of mine! This song always puts me in a good mood and it’s such a fun song to play on Rock Band! I don’t know when I first got into Bowie, but he has such an amazing catalog of hits. No joke, there’s a picture of him hanging in my living room. Wham bam thank you ma’am!

4. Nobody Gets Me But You - Spoon A friend recommended this band to be my first year of college and since then I’ve been hooked! This is my favorite song (at least right now) from their record Transference, but if you want the ultimate CST party jam, you have to hear “I Turn My Camera On”!

5. Elenore - The Turtles I’ve always been a big fan of 60s rock but this song sort of fell off my radar till I saw the movie Pirate Radio. That movie has SO MANY great songs, but this one is such a gem! You’re probably familiar with “Happy Together” but you gotta give this song and “She’d Rather Be With Me” a listen.
