CAPITOL STREET TEAM

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Our LA team was more than thankful to meet up and be serenaded by Jamie Scott from Graffiti6 last Monday. He was nice enough to drop by the Capitol Tower and hang out for a couple hours. Pizza, jokes, an intimate acoustic show.. what more could we ask for?! A western rendition of Happy Birthday was sung (yeehaw!), and we were treated with never before heard songs like “I’m Gold” and in the spirit of the holiday season, a cover of Wham’s “Last Christmas”. WHAT A NIGHT!

Can’t wait to see you guys at the next mixer :-D

Photography by Christine Sprunck - Thank you!

They’re taking over LA, NYC, and the rest of the nation!

Today… prepare for an abduction..

Tomorrow.. you’ll be out of this world..

What gets hundreds of people to storm out of the Capitol Records building?! FOOD TRUCKS. haha. Man, we wish this happened every day! Best lunches and weirdest deserts in awhile! Cheli made a new friend with her bacon brownie and our newest intern, Alli, downed a whole CUP of red velvet cake. Insane day…

I eat: PIZZA
Over the past few months I’ve decided to try and become somewhat of a pizza connoisseur. If I go to a restaurant and pizza’s on the list, you can be sure that’s what I’m ordering. This doesn’t go hand in hand with the typical gym new years resolution, but it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make haha Here are a few of my favorite hot spots if you’re ever in LA (Note: I am a bit biased on loving NY style thin crust). Also, stuffed crust and pepperoni + pineapple anywhere you go is just bomb.com!
VILLAGE PIZZERIA - Give A Piece A ChanceWe’ve tweeted about this place because it’s bomb.com AND it’s the closest to the Capitol Records tower on Yucca. There’s also one in Larchmont Village. They have the most ridiculous custom made GIANT calzones. If you ever have a war with yourself between craving pasta and pizza, the chicken, mozzarella, marinara, and broccoli calzone has been there for me countless times.
L.O.V.E. Pizza (on Melrose) - Pizza With LoveIt blew my mind away. Apparently tons of celebrities hit it up (Frankie Muniz, Shaq, they’ve got a list on their website). The time I went my friends and I randomnly ended up having dinner with the guy who played Deputy Jones in Reno 911 lol
Pizza Port (San Diego, CA)They have the most unique beers they brew, and the BEST pizza hands down that’s ever journeyed down to Grace’s stomach. Can you say Party in the tummy?! Softest, most incredible dough and crust I’ve ever had.. this ain’t no slim jim whatsoever.
BJ’sThe one exception to my hate of deep dish. GREAT WHITE is the way to go. Alfredo. Chicken. Sun dried tomatoes are keyyyyyy. And I cannot stress enough how mandatory a PIZZOOKIE is on your visit. Desert Pizza. Enough said.
Big WangsThey may take forever but it’s a good place to chill with friends and grab some sweet happy hour priced drinks. Their BBQ Chicken, Buffalo Chicken, and Pepperoni pizzas are untoppable!
Essex  - ClosedI think I had a $5 happy hr pizza here before Good Charlotte performed on Jimmy Kimmel back in November. It was good enough for me to remember it haha. If you needed a quick snack it was definitely a FTW type place. Unfortunately, it closed down at the end of ‘10 :(
YardhouseFavorite: Margherita, but all everything is good including the Spicy Thai Chicken pizza.  Actually, ALL of their food deserves an amazeballs award. There’s something about pesto pizzas that just rule my world.
California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) (Hollywood & Highland)Too many good picks here but their Thai chicken, pesto chicken, bbq chicken (sidenote.. I just realized the chicken theme lol), and carne asada are my top choices. They’re even better paired with their amazing happy hour sangria ;)
Capitol CityThe pesto chicken just melts in your mouth.  It’s just like eating a bowl of pasta.. crust just as good as olive garden breadsticks. I’ve heard the bacon pineapple is good, so that’s next on the list :)
I’ve been itching to hit up Pitfire Pizza (Downtown on 2nd St). Crossing fingers it’s yet another epic experience :)
Have any recommendations for me? I’d love to hear your opinions / tips! What’s your favorite pizza place and type?

Empire of The Sun put on an AMAZING show last night in LA! You definitely felt like you were walking on dream if you were at the Henry Fonda Musicbox with us. It was their first ever LA show (2nd ever North American show) and was soooo unreal!! These guys know how to put on a show!.. and even had a wardrobe change for every song!

Expect nothing less from these two..
